Meet Melissa! An active attorney in Washington, DC. Six years ago, Melissa had her entire stomach removed after finding out she had a genetic mutation that causes an aggressive, undetectable, and untreatable form of stomach cancer.

Melissa’s Story -

It was a long journey, but in 2017, Melissa decided to have her stomach removed. “Learning to live without a stomach is probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to do,” said Melissa. Day-to-day life, while trying to get all her nutrients, is challenging, especially since Melissa is into running, dancing, working out, and lifting weights. 

Melissa had to learn how to eat all over again, and if Melissa eats the wrong way, she has a blood sugar problem. One of the things that Melissa had to give up was her morning cup of coffee, but her regular protein shake wasn’t cutting it, and that’s when Melissa found Chike. “It's the best of both worlds because It has caffeine, protein, and all the nutrients, and it tastes amazing. I miss the ritual of making coffee in the morning, but I now have the ritual of making a Chike shake in the morning. It has really helped me start my day off being my best self every day, “ said Melissa.
